The 77th Belfast was formed on the 12th December 1927 in Graymount Hospital (Hazelwood Collage) Whiteabbey by Robert E Baird, the scarf was Crimson with device. The Cub and Scout section both met on a Saturday afternoon and Mr Baird ran both sections. This ran until the out break of World War Two when the group had to break up.
12th December 1949 the group reformed in Ballygomartin Presbyterian Church. The scout could alway be found in the Nissan Huts at the back of the church on the West Circular Road with there new yellow scarf. With the near brake up due to the lose of the scout troop at the turn of the century the group has a new spring in its step as the Scout troop restarted 2014 and now the group is running like the good old days with a new scarf to represent are history in scouting yellow and crimson (red) with are old logo.... Due to unseen circumstances in September 21 we have had to move. We are now sponsored by Ballygomartin Baptist church, West Circular road, Belfast. |
